The New Orleans Saints picked up their third win of the season after earning an 30-27 overtime win against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
Wil Lutz kicked the go ahead field goal to open the extra quarter and Marshon Lattimore made a key tackle on the Chargers ensuing drive to seal the win.
Here's how it happened:
First quarter
Chargers 6, Saints 0, 4:33: Keenan Allen caught a 17 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Justin Herbert. A key play on the nine-play, 80-yard drive was a 36-yard rush from Chargers running back Justin Jackson.
Chargers 6, Saints 3, :00: Wil Lutz connected on a 48-yard field goal.
Second quarter
Chargers 13, Saints 3, 11:01: Justin Herbert found Mike Williams in the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown. The score was set up after by a 49-yard reception from Jalen Guyton.
Chargers 20, Saints 3, 4:25: Herbert connected with Hunter Henry for a three-yard touchdown pass. The score was set up by a 39-yard return on an interception by Nasir Adderley that gave Los Angeles the ball on the Saints 1-yard line.
Chargers 20, Saints 10, :17: Drew Brees scored on a 1-yard run to finish an eight-play, 51-yard drive
Third quarter
Chargers 20, Saints 13, 4:52: Lutz hit a 53-yard field goal to cap a seven-play, 40-yard drive.
Fourth quarter
Saints 20, Chargers 20, 11:21: Drew Brees found a wide open Jared Cook on the right side of the field for a 41-yard touchdown pass to cap a 10-play, 89-yard drive.
Chargers 27, Saints 20, 3:50: Herbert found Williams for a 64-yard drive.
Saints 27, Chargers 27, :58: Taysom Hill scored on a 9-yard rush to cap an eight-play, 73-yard drive.
Overtime
Saints 30, Chargers 27, 5:08: Lutz hit a 36-yard field goal to cap a nine-play, 48-yard drive.
