Saints CB Paulson Adebo wins Player of the Week honors after monster game vs Bears

No surprise here: Saints CB Paulson Adebo was the best player player on the field in a Week 9 win over the Bears, and the NFL made it official in his weekly awards.

Adebo was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after a performance that included a pair of interceptions, along with a fumble he forced and recovered in the 24-17 win. He also logged 7 tackles (5 solo), and had 3 passes defensed.

"That was a spectacular game for him, but I don’t think any of us were surprised by that," Saints GM Mickey Loomis said on WWL this week, "and my expectation is that he will continue to play well for the rest of this year.”

Adebo was the first player to record 2 INTs, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery since Charles Woodson in 2009. The third-year pro is tied for the NFL lead with six turnovers forced, and that mark is the most since Marshon Lattimore had six in the 2017 season.

Adebo was joined on the AFC side by Colts CB Kenny Moore, who logged two pick-sixes in a win over the Panthers. Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs won the offensive award in the NFC, while Commanders punter Tress Way won the special teams award. Adebo is the Saints' second weekly winner this season, joining kicker Blake Grupe, who won the special teams honor after a Week 5 win over the Patriots.
