A week after facing the Panthers without several key starters, the Saints appear on track to getting several of them back as they get ready to face the Patriots.
The most notable of that group: Star cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who was upgraded to a full participant in Friday's practice and doesn't have an injury designation.
For Lattimore, one week missed is likely the best-case scenario after a hand injury that required surgery suffered in the Week 1 win over the Packers. He was spotted with a brace on the hand at practice last week and had a questionable tag before being ruled out ahead of the game.
The lone player with an injury designation is center Erik McCoy, who didn't practice at all this week due to a calf injury suffered in Week 1 and has already been ruled "out" for Sunday. But nickel corner CJ Gardner-Johnson, defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon and linebacker Pete Werner were all full participants. Rookie defensive end Payton Turner and guard Calvin Throckmorton were limited, but still appear on track to play without an injury designation.
Here's how the final injury report of the week broke down:
(Wednesday/Thursday/Friday ... DNP = did not practice; LP = limited; FP = full participation)
- C Erik McCoy (calf): DNP/DNP/DNP (out)
- G Calvin Throckmorton (knee): LP/LP/LP
- DB CJ Gardner-Johnson (knee): LP/FP/FP
- CB Marson Lattimore (hand): LP/LP/FP
- DB PJ Williams (back): LP/FP/FP
- DE Payton Turner (elbow): LP/LP/LP
- DE Tanoh Kpassagnon (calf): FP/FP/FP
- LB Pete Werner (hamstring): LP/FP/FP
On the Patriots side of things there are three players listed as questionable in offensive lineman Trent Brown, defensive back Adrian Phillips and linebacker Josh Uche.
