The New Orleans Saints wanted to swing a trade on Friday, it just didn't work out. So they made sure that was the first thing to happen on Saturday morning.

The Saints sent picks No. 115 and 167 to the Bears for pick No. 104 and selected Old Dominion OT Nick Saldiveri, who could likely also work in at guard in New Orleans.

The Saints filled clear needs with their first three picks, nabbing Clemson DT Bryan Bresee and No. 29, Notre Dame DE Isaiah Foskey at No. 40 and TCU running back Kendre Miller at No. 71.

It was a wild start to the 4th round, with the Raiders trading up for 104 and the Eagles trading up to 105 before a pick was made. Interestingly, the pick the Saints traded to move up was the 5th rounder they added in the trade of C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Eagles.

Saints head coach Dennis Allen said the team was looking to make trades on Day 2, but none panned out. The team also considered potential moves anywhere from 15 to 27 in the first round, but ultimately stood pat at 29. The Saints now have three picks remaining on the final day of the draft (146, 227 and 257).
