The New Orleans Saints will be monitoring a handful of new injuries heading into Week 3, including a pair at key positions.
Saints RB Jamaal Williams is dealing with a hamstring injury that forced him to leave the victory over the Panthers early in the first half, and he's expected to be out for an extended period, according to Dennis Allen. The surprise additions were that of Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau.
The Saints held a walkthrough on Wednesday as they work on a short week, so injury statuses are estimated. Here is how that list shaped up on Wednesday:
DNP = did not participate; LP = limited participation; FP = full participation
- TE Foster Moreau (ankle): DNP
- RB Jamaal Williams (hamstring): DNP
- QB/TE Taysom Hill (knee): LP
- RB Kendre Miller (hamstring): FP
Moreau's and Hill's statuses will be important to monitor throughout the week, but it's a positive sign that Hill would've been able to participate in some capacity had the team practiced today. The other name on this list is Kendre Miller, who is still dealing with a hamstring injury but is expected to make his debut this week. He would've been a full participant in practice.
Also notable is the absence of J.T. Gray, who had been dealing with a shoulder injury but played in Week 3 while wearing a shoulder harness. Juwan Johnson is also off the list after dealing with a calf injury last week.
The Packers are dealing with a good deal of injury questions on their own end, with three players held out on Wednesday. Here's the full listing for Green Bay:
- OT David Bakhtiari (rest/knee): DNP
- OL Algton Jenkins (knee): DNP
- RB Aaron Jones (hamstring): DNP
- LB Rashan Gary (knee): LP
- LB Lukas Van Ness (elbow): LP
- WR Christian Watson (hamstring): LP
- P Dan Whelan (finger): FP
