Saints injury report, Thursday: Alvin Kamara returns, Bijan Robinson added for Falcons

The New Orleans Saints got a few key players back at Thursday's practice, but a pair of wide receivers were added to the injury report as well.

Alvin Kamara got back to work for a limited practice and didn't look slowed by his rib issue during the portion of practice open to the media. The question for him will be how those injured ribs react to contact, but that's not something we'll know until Sunday. CB Alontae Taylor also returned after missing a day with an illness.

Here's how the Saints' injury report stacked up on Wednesday:
LP = limited participant; FP = full participant; DNP = did not participate

- QB Derek Carr (left groin): FP | FP
- TE Taysom Hill (chest): FP | FP
- LB D'Marco Jackson (calf): LP | LP
- DT Khalen Saunders (calf): LP | LP
- OT Landon Young (foot): LP | FP
- CB Alontae Taylor (illness): DNP | FP
- LB Demario Davis (hamstring): DNP | DNP
- RB Alvin Kamara (hip/ribs): DNP | LP
- RG Cesar Ruiz (knee): DNP | DNP
- WR A.T. Perry (hamstring): n/a | DNP
- WR Cedrick Wilson (ankle): n/a | LP

The two new names to the Saints injury report are wide receivers A.T. Perry and Cedrick Wilson. The news for Perry adds some additional frustration for a player who dealt with injuries throughout camp and is still yet to be active for a game this season. For Wilson the injury is less mysterious as he went down while running a route early in practice while the media was in attendance. He slowly walked off the field to be treated by trainers and did not return while the viewing window was open. His status will be one to watch.

If Wilson is unable to return it could open the door for a young player like rookie Bub Means or veteran Equanimeous St. Brown to be called up from the practice squad.

Swing lineman Landon Young was also upgraded to a full participant, a good sign considering the Saints' depth issues. Center Erik McCoy has already been moved to IR (groin) and RG Cesar Ruiz missed his second consecutive day with a knee issue.

The Falcons added three names to their Thursday injury report, including a star pass-rusher and running back, both of whom were listed as limited. OT Jake Matthews also missed the day's practice to attend the birth of his second child, according to reports.

Here's how the Falcons' side of the report:

- OT Kaleb McGary (knee): DNP | DNP
- OT Jake Matthews (NFI-personal): n/a | DNP
- LB Matthew Judon (hamstring): n/a | LP
- RB Bijan Robinson (shoulder): n/a | LP

The Saints (2-1) and Falcons (1-2) face off at noon Sunday in Atlanta. Catch all the action on WWL and Audacy.
