The New Orleans Saints appear to be on track to miss the playoffs for the third straight season but it does not seem as if there will be a major shakeup.

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, the Saints are expected to retain Dennis Allen as head coach and Derek Carr as the team’s starting quarterback.

However, New Orleans could make a change with offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael.

Carmichael, who has been with the organization since 2006, has held the title of offensive coordinator since 2009 but did not assume play-calling duties until the 2022 season after Sean Payton stepped down as head coach.

The Saints finished 19th in yards and 22nd in points last season but improved this year to 14th in yards and 13th in points scored with a new quarterback in Carr.

Carr has battled injuries all season but has still managed to start 15 games, throwing for 3,417 yards and 19 touchdowns to eight interceptions with a 67.4% completion rate prior to Sunday.

Despite decent numbers, Carr has underwhelmed at times, throwing for fewer than 200 yards five different times this season.

It’s unclear where the Saints would turn for a new play-caller.
