Saints land 4 players on NFC's Pro Bowl roster, but one star defender snubbed yet again

The Saints might not have Drew Brees, but the star power clearly remains with four New Orleans players named to the NFC's Pro Bowl roster.

Those selections for the Saints are the usual suspects, led by Cam Jordan who made the roster for the 7th time in his 11-year career. Jordan was also named the NFC's Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the day.

He's joined by running back Alvin Kamara (5th appearance), cornerback Marshon Lattimore (4th appearance) and J.T. Gray made it for special teams, his first such appearance.

The Saints were one of the 11 teams that put four or more players on their conference's respective roster. The Indianapolis Colts led all teams with 7 total selections, while the Tampa Bay Bucs led the NFC South with five.

The biggest absence for the Saints comes along the offensive line, where they've been a mainstay at one or more spots in most seasons. However this year's group has been heavily impacted by injuries. Guard Andrus Peat is out for the season, center Erik McCoy missed multiple games to begin the year, and tackles Terron Armstead and Ryan Ramczyk have each missed multiple weeks throughout the season.

But the snub, as it seems to every season, came at linebacker with Demario Davis again missing out despite consistently stellar play along one of the NFL's top defenses. Davis has twice been awarded All-Pro, but never the Pro Bowl. This year's inside/middle linebacker selections were Cowboys rookie Micah Parsons and Seahawks star Bobby Wagner.
