Marques Colston arrived in the NFL as a little-known 7th round pick, but his name now resonates among the greatest in New Orleans history.

Colston will soon add yet another accolade to his collection in the form of a seat in the Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame, an honor officially announced on Tuesday.

The former Saints star wide receiver is one of six local athletes to be inducted this year, along with softball standout Ashley Brignac and four other members who will be announced in the coming days. Each year the Hall of Fame class is selected by the Greater New Orleans Sports Awards Committee, a group of current and former media members.

The inductees will be honored at the committee's annual awards banquet on July 30.

It's Colston's second such honor in recent years, having been inducted in the Saints Hall of Fame alongside teammates Reggie Bush and Roman Harper in 2019. Colston was also named into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame's 2021 class.

A member of the Saints' Super Bowl champion 2009 roster, Colston lived up to his nickname "The Quiet Storm" by amassing 711 catches, 9,759 yards and 72 touchdowns over the course of his 10-year career that came to an end in 2015. Coston still holds a host of Saints franchise records, including the most career receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, most seasons with 1,000 yards receiving (6), most games with 100 or more yards receiving (28) and most games played by a wide receiver (146).
