Drew Brees turns 42 on Friday. Until that day, however, the veteran QB won’t be the oldest player in a Saints uniform as the Saints signed a 42-year-old long snapper to their practice squad.
Among the roster moves, New Orleans made on Monday was signing long snapper John Denney who last played in the NFL in 2018.
Denney is a 14-year NFL veteran who’d played his entire career with the Miami Dolphins. The Saints also signed kicker Blair Walsh Monday who last played in 2017.
The Saints also activated safety D.J. Swearinger from the reserve/COVID-19 list and waived receiver Austin Carr.
