The Saints announced that they have agreed to terms with defensive back J.T. Gray on a two-year contract extension. He was an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State in 2018 when he earned a spot on the Saints roster.
The 6-0, 202 pound DB has shined while being a special teams stud making 25 stops, recovering 3 fumbles and blocking a punt; earning All-Pro honors in 2019.
Gray played in every game the past seasons and was a key piece to the puzzle on a 2020 coverage unit which ranked first in the NFL in opponent punt return average (team-record 2.3 avg.) and 2nd in opponent kickoff return average (17.2 avg.)
The 25-year-old has also played 40 snaps on defense.
