The New Orleans Saints are adding depth to their linebacker room, and it's a familiar name in Deion Jones.
The Saints have agreed to terms with the former LSU standout and New Orleans native, according to a report from ESPN. The team has not officially announced the move.

Jones was a second-round pick of the Falcons in 2016 and played six seasons for Atlanta. During that stretch he took down a long pick-six against Drew Brees at the Superdome on Monday Night Football. He spent the 2023 season with the Panthers and has played for the Bucs each of the past two seasons.
Over Jones' 10-year career he's appeared in 128 games and rolled up 761 tackles, 12 sacks, 5 forced fumbles and 13 interceptions.
The Saints' linebacker room is currently headlined by Kaden Elliss, who returned to the Saints from the Falcons this offseason, along with Pete Werner. The group also features young players in Danny Stutsman, Isaiah Stalbird and Jaylan Ford, who saw significant action in Brandon Staley's defense a season ago. The Saints can sign Jones without making a corresponding move as they have an open roster spot following Ja'Lynn Polk's retirement.
Jones will become the latest in a series of homecoming storylines for the Saints in recent seasons, with that group including current Saints and Louisiana natives Davon Godchaux and Justin Reid, both of whom signed with the Saints last offseason.
