The New Orleans Saints addressed one of their biggest needs selecting Pete Werner. The 6-3, 238-pounder finished his career at Ohio State with 185 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 13 pass break ups, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one sack in 47 games.
The Saints love their Buckeyes. Werner is the 8th OSU played selected since 2003, which is more than any other school.
Werner was a first-team All-Big Ten selection and semifinalist for the Butkus Award in 2020, tallying a team-leading 54 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one sack and one pass break up in eight games.
