The New Orleans Saints are expected to prioritize re-signing safety Marcus Williams who’ll become a free agent this offseason, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Williams started 14 games for the Saints this past season and collected three interceptions, seven pass break ups and 59 total tackles.
The former second round draft pick of the Saints has picked off 13 passes since his rookie season in 2017.
Williams is one of several key Saints players set to become free agents along with defensive end Trey Hendrickson, defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins and linebacker Alex Anzalone and backup quarterback Jameis Winston among others.
Saints coach Sean Payton has made it clear that the Saints are looking to bring Winston back for the 2021 season.
