Former LSU Tiger Kwon Alexander seemed to fit in immediately with the Saints after he was acquired mid-season a year ago. An injury cut his season short and doesn’t look like he’ll be back in Black & Gold in 2021.
Cutting Alexander will trim $13 million off the Saints salary cap. New Orleans sent a fifth-round draft pick to San Francisco along with LB Kiko Alonso to acquire him from the 49ers last year.
The 26-year-old played in 7 games for the Black & Gold before tearing his Achilles and tallied 27 tackles, 4 passes defended, forced a fumble and recovered two.
Alexander posted a farewell message on his Instagram account following the news of his release.
