The New Orleans Saints kept hope alive throughout the week for a return of Derek Carr and Alvin Kamara, but neither will be on the field for Week 17.
Carr will miss his third consecutive game with a fractured left hand, while Kamara will miss his second with a groin injury. Four players are listed as questionable. Spencer Rattler will draw another start in relief for New Orleans, the fifth of the rookie's season. The Saints are 0-5 in games started by backups this season.

The Saints also ruled out C Erik McCoy (elbow) and LG Lucas Patrick (knee). Interim head coach Darren Rizzi announced earlier in the week that both players were likely done for the season, so one or both could be reverted to IR on Saturday ahead of the game when the final roster moves are announced for the week.
An interesting player to watch over the next two weeks will be Chris Olave, whom the Saints are taking it day-to-day with as he works back from his second concussion of the season. Olave hasn't played in a game since Week 9 but was a full participant in practice this week and is listed as questionable for the game. WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (chest) and DT Nathan Shepherd (eye) are also both listed as questionable but were trending toward playing after being late scratches a week ago.

CB Rico Payton is also listed as questionable after landing on the injury report on Friday with an illness that's been circulating through the team. Kamara, Chase Young and Valdes-Scantling have all dealt with flu situations in the past several weeks.
