The New Orleans Saints look poised to get key players back from injuries in Week 4. Well, some of them.
LG Trevor Penning (toe) was a full participant in practice for the first time since a turf toe injury in the preseason opener. LT Taliese Fuaga also got back to practice in a limited capacity after missing Week 3 to nurse knee and back injuries.
The Saints are still awaiting the return of Chase Young, who has not practiced since leaving the first day of practice ahead of the season opener due to a calf injury.
"Chase is close," Moore said on Wednesday, "he's progressing."
Moore had said previously that the DE did not suffer a setback with the injury and he's doing everything he can to get back on the field. The Saints have scuffled in the pressure department in his absence after a strong start. The Saints have logged 22 QB pressures through three games, according to the NFL's NextGenStats, which is tied for last with the Miami Dolphins.
Here's how the rest of the injury report broke down on Wednesday:
LP = limited participation; FP = full participation; DNP = did not participate
- OL Dillon Radunz (toe): DNP
- DE Chase Young (calf): DNP
- OT Taliese Fuaga (knee/back): LP
- WR Trey Palmer (hamstring): LP
- WR Devaughn Vele (hip): LP
- DE Cam Jordan (groin): FP
- Trevor Penning (toe): FP
The Saints also sent depth QB Hunter Dekkers to injured reserve with what was described as a shoulder injury.
Jordan is the only player listed on this week's injury report for the Saints that played in Week 3. If Penning starts and Radunz can't play against the Bills in Week 4, expect UDFA Torricelli Simpkins III to be the primary backup.
Here's how the Bills' injury report stacked up to start the week:
- OL Spencer Brown (calf): DNP
- LB Matt Milano (pectoral): DNP
- DT Ed Oliver (ankle): DNP
- DE AJ Epenesa (pectoral): LP
The Saints (0-3) head up to Orchard Park to face the Bills (3-0) at noon Sunday. Catch all the action on WWL and Audacy.
