Saints WR Rashid Shaheed sent to injured reserve, likely done for season
The New Orleans Saints will have to be without one of their top pass-catchers for the foreseeable future, with Rashid Shaheed headed to injured reserve.
The Saints WR suffered a meniscus injury in the 4th quarter of a loss to the Bucs and underwent surgery. According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter the procedure was a full meniscus repair and carries a recovery timetable of 4-6 months, which effectively ends Shaheed's season.
New Orleans will also be without WR Chris Olave in Week 7 due to a concussion. The Saints will likely be relying on a pair of rookies in Bub Means and Mason Tipton, along with a veteran in Cedrick Wilson against the Broncos.
In a corresponding move for Shaheed the Saints have signed WR Jermaine Jackson from the practice squad, a player who could potentially take on kick return duties. The Saints have also elevated veteran WR Equanimeous St. Brown and safety Johnathan Abram from the practice squad.
The Saints (2-4) host the Broncos (3-3) on Thursday Night Football. Catch all the action on WWL and Audacy.
