Gleason is best known in Saints lore for the Domecoming blocked punt against the Falcons during the first game back in the Superdome following hurricane Katrina, but he's transcended his football career in the past decade during his battle with ALS, which was first revealed in 2011.

The 45-year-old has earned several awards throughout his philanthropy, including his Team Gleason foundation, and in 2019 was awarded a Congressional Medal of Honor for his work promoting ALS awareness.

The 2022 ESPYs ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. on July 20.
