That Cam Jordan-Jameis Winston faceplant? They talked about it: 'He was upset'

Before Jameis Winston was the starting quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, his interactions with his current teammates weren't quite as amicable.

There were sideline scuffles, there were on-field dust-ups. But the dust from at least one of them was quickly swept away, according to Saints DE Cam Jordan.

During one game in the 2019 season, Winston was spotted grabbing Jordan's helmet after going to the ground and shoving it into the turf. The DE was asked whether they ever discussed that moment. The answer is yes, on the team plane during the 2020 season, Winston's first with the Saints.

"He was upset!!!" Jordan posted. "I folded my hands and was chillin."

The Saints won both matchups that season, Winston's last in Tampa Bay, and there's certainly no hard feelings between the teammates now. But it does illustrate just how unique the nature of the pairing of Winston and the Saints are now, one of the more heated rivals of his new team during his first five NFL seasons.

Jordan also joined Get Up this week and was asked about his quarterback, explaining what makes Winston special.

“There’s nobody more bought in, into any situation than Jameis is. When I say more locked in, it’s probably why he’s so, like, memeable," Jordan said. "He’s going to give you something.”
