Watch: Drew Brees' Super Bowl chant goes off without a hitch at Saints HOF coronation

There weren't many things that went right for the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, but Drew Brees got the exact moment he wanted.

The idea raised eyebrows, with the Saints legend telling fans he intended to lead them in the Super Bowl team chant full of numbers and rhymes and the like. The idea drew a fair number of jokes and the Saints even went so far as to send out a script for fans to study.

In the end it went off without a hitch during a halftime event to honor the newest Saints Hall of Famer, surrounded by family and dozens of former teammates, many of whom he led in that exact chant many times.

The true MVP of that moment was whoever decided to put the script for the chant up on the stadium's videoboards, and the crowd certainly got the job done.

The day was one that celebrated the Saints legend from start to finish. Brees held court for the better part of an hour earlier in the day at the Saints Hall of Fame luncheon, telling several never-before-heard stories about that Super Bowl roster, and was even announced during the pregame intros like an active player.

Brees was led off the field by a second line, and now we'll just have to wait for the future accolades sure to come his way, including a bust in Canton.
