Saints quarterback Tyler Shough didn't take long to find his way onto a Mardi Gras parade float, though he might need to dial in his soft toss game.
Riding as a grand marshal with the Krewe of Pygmalion on Saturday, Shough could be seen showing off his arm strength alongside fellow Saints players Erik McCoy, Foster Moreau, WIll Clapp, Nick Saldiveri and Moliki Matavao.
The Saints shared a video of the young Saints QB doing what he does best: hurling footballs -- this time of the foam variety. It was all part of what's been a whirlwind week for Shough. He was named the Pepsi Rookie of the Year, winning a fan vote, but finished second in the league's Rookie of the Year vote, a result that was announced by his stepfather at NFL Honors on Thursday out in California.
Despite missing out on the award to Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan, Shough energized a Saints fanbase after he took over in Week 9 and led the Saints to five wins after a 1-8 start, including a four-game winning streak with a pair of 300-yard passing performances. The Saints picked Shough 40th overall out of Louisville in last year's draft.
Tyler and Jordan Shough are also awaiting the birth of their first child, with the baby boy expected at some point in February.
By the look of things, the Saints have their QB, and it appears the QB has his city.
