On Saturday afternoon, ESPN reported Tom Brady is going to retire from the NFL after 22 NFL seasons.
And that was apparently how the Buccaneers learned of it.
Multiple reports out of Tampa Bay indicated the Bucs were unaware of the decision.
“Not that we know of,” Bucs head coach Bruce Arians told the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud. “(Brady’s) agent (Donald Yee) just told us he hasn’t made up his mind.”
[UPDATE 4:15 p.m.]: According to Stroud, Brady has called Bucs GM Jason Licht had has told him he has not made up his mind.
It is worth noting Brady hasn't officially released anything of his own, although the official account for his TB12 Sports brand did tweet something before deleting it.
