The St. Tammany Parish Animal Shelter and surrounding shelters today worked with an animal rescue group to save the lives of 100 dogs and one rabbit.
Let the Fur Fly Wings of Rescue flew the animals to the Northeast to be adopted.
The Brandywine Valley SPCA in Delaware and St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in New Jersey agreed to take the shelter pets for immediate adoption.
The flight took off out of Top Gun Aviation in Hammond.
Mardi Paws spearheaded the effort.
The flight was funded by sponsorships, including: Tito’s Handmade Vodka for Dog People, Baldwin Subaru, and The Meraux Foundation.
