That makes it the third largest prize in American lottery history.
The world record was a Powerball jackpot of $1.586 billion on January 13, 2016. The second of all time was a Mega Millions jackpot of $1.537 billion on October 23, 2018.
Meanwhile the next Powerball jackpot is an estimated $730 million on Wednesday.
