Exxon Mobil plans to export ammonia to Asia, anticipating demand for the clean-burning fuel in Japan and South Korea. The oil giant plans to start up what would be the world’s largest low-carbon hydrogen facility as early as 2027 near Houston.
According to a new report by Moody’s Analytics, climate change poses a significant threat to the economies of U.S. cities, with metro areas like San Francisco, New York City and Phoenix among the most at risk of sea-level rise, extreme heat and water stress. The metros that are least exposed include Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge is one of the most climate-resilient areas because it has greater access to fresh water and is not exposed sea-level rise, even though Louisiana as a whole is grappling with more severe and frequent climate disasters like hurricanes.
Markets opened higher after stocks tumbled on Friday. The Dow Industrials dropped 337, the Nasdaq lost 195 and the S&P 500 was down 42.
