Report: German vaccine approval, rural LA broadband

The IPO bonanza continues with Airbnb, one of the U.S.’ most valuable private startups. It’s expected to start trading today at a market cap of as much as $42 billion. Food delivery giant DoorDash made its public debut Wednesday at a valuation of almost $38 billion dollars.

All eyes on today’s November inflation and weekly jobless claims figures. And the FDA meets today on whether to recommend emergency use authorization of a vaccine developed by Pfizer with German partner BioNTech. The UK approved the shot Monday.


An FCC program to promote high-speed internet access in sparsely populated areas is bringing over $300 million dollars to the state. Thirteen broadband providers in Louisiana will beef up internet infrastructure over the next 6 years through the grant from the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund.

Chicago-based Oak Street Health is expanding into Louisiana. The network of primary care centers for Medicare patients will open its new locations in early 2021.

After record intraday highs, stocks pulled back to close lower on the day. The Dow dropped 105 points, the Nasdaq slid 243 and the S&P shed 29. Futures are mixed.
