The International Energy Agency says a slow economic recovery from the pandemic threatens to delay a full rebound in world energy demand to 2025. In its central scenario, a vaccine and therapeutics could mean the global economy rebounds in 2021 and energy demand recovers by 2023. But under a “delayed recovery scenario”, the timeline is pushed back two years. The agency sees global energy demand falling by 5% in 2020.
Carnival Cruise Line says it’s canceling its remaining cruises scheduled for November out of two Florida ports, as well as five cruises from Australia at the beginning of next year. The cruise line had previously announced it was canceling for the rest of the year all U.S. cruises except for trips out of Port Canaveral and Port Miami following an extension of a no-sail order until Oct. 31 by the CDC. Cruises are still planned for December out of the two Florida ports.
