U.S.-China tensions are starting to touch freight transport operations. China is accusing U.S.
officials of harassing Chinese shipping and airline crews that arrive in the U.S., and says Beijing may retaliate for what it calls “provocative actions.” China claims U.S. law-enforcement personnel had recently boarded 21 ships after they berthed in the U.S. and questioned crews extensively about Communist Party membership and their links with the Chinese government.
The Small Business Administration is reminding people in Mississippi about the deadline to apply for low-interest loans to recover from floods that occurred Feb. 10-14. Dec. 28 is the deadline for applications from small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses and private nonprofit organizations.
