Wall Street put in a lackluster session amid light volume and finished virtually unchanged.

The Dow posted a gain of just under two points The NASDAQ grew 11 and the S&P 500 added five.


In economic news, new residential construction increased unexpectedly in October.  The Commerce Department said housing starts jumped 1.9 percent to an annual rate of 1.372 million after surging by 3.1 percent in September.

The UAW’s strike against the Big Three automakers appears to be nearing its end.   Preliminary results show that UAW workers have ratified their deals with Stellantis,  Ford and GM.  The strike has been ongoing for six weeks.

Oil prices gained just under $3 settle at $75.89 a barrel.  Despite the gains oil still dropped for the week, as investors remain concerned about oversupply and weak demand.

And an oil spill is being reported off the Gulf Coast.  The spill reportedly started yesterday near the Main Pass Oil Gathering pipeline system.  The cause of the spill is unknown.
