Why did the chicken cross the road? We still don't know. However, we can definitely tell you what happened to the chickens that fell off a slaughterhouse truck.
Their lives were saved.
The Animal Care and Control Team in Philadelphia shared on Facebook that they're searching for homes for multiple fine-feathered friends.
That's because a crate full of chickens fell off a truck at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Grandview Road in the city's Hunting Park neighborhood Sunday morning.
And ACCT swung into action, rescuing 11 chickens.
They were able to quickly find homes for the chickens, but are still looking for homes for roosters. Anyone who's interested -- and who lives in an area that allows backyard chickens -- should fill out an application here: https://acctphilly.org/other-animals-main-facility/
