“Most educated cities” list released; four Louisiana cities rank near the bottom

Citing that cities are always looking to attract highly-educated workers to spur an uptick in economic growth, WalletHub released their list of the nation’s “most educated cities.” And four Louisiana cities rank near the bottom.

New Orleans/Metairie (grouped together in the ranking) fared the best in Louisiana, ranking #102 in the list. Baton Rouge came next at #115.

Shreveport/Bossier City was listed at #127, with Lafayette ranking #134.

Ann Arbor, Mich., was the top-ranked city in the U.S. A grouping of San Jose, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara, Calif., got the runner-up position.

The top five was rounded out by the Washington/Arlington/Alexandria area at #3, California’s San Francisco/Oakland/Berkeley area at #4, and Madison, Wis., at #5.
