PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — University of Michigan epidemiologists are looking at data to see if people will take a COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes available.
Their work is based on a survey from around the world that includes more than 800 Americans and their desire to get a flu vaccine this year.
Early findings are that Americans who got a flu shot in the previous year were three times more likely to want the flu shot again this year.
More importantly, those who received a flu shot during the last influenza season were 63% more likely to be planning to get the COVID-19 vaccine than those who did not.
Remember, a COVID-19 vaccine will not be effective unless the vast majority of Americans trust the vaccine and agree to get the inoculation.
