A Lafayette, La., hospital has walked back airing its frustrations with COVID vaccination rates.

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center grabbed attention with a Facebook post in which they joked about hiding the COVID vaccination in free food.

“We are going to have to open breakfast to the public and slap the vaccine in a biscuit for y’all to get vaccinated, aren’t we?” the post read, accompanied by a picture of their cafeteria.

The post elicited a strong reaction from both sides of the vaccination debate and ultimately lead to a mea culpa from the medical facility by way of another Facebook post.

Of course, the entire internet spat played out amid a surge of COVID infections across the state of Louisiana, which led to another statewide indoor mask mandate issued by Governor John Bel Edwards on Monday afternoon.
