A hit-and-run crash on Easter Sunday left one person dead and injured four other people according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The crash happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Pauger and North Miro streets said police.
They say a Chevrolet Suburban was speeding the wrong way down Pauger Street when it crossed North Miro Street and was hit by a Honda Accord. The crash caused a lot of damage to parked cars and injured nearby pedestrians.
A total of five vehicles were involved in the crash including the Suburban and Accord, which crashed at the intersection and caused the Suburban to overturn.
The person killed was one of the nearby pedestrians injured in the crash.
Investigators say the driver and occupants of the overturned Suburban reportedly fled the scene on foot following the crash. Police are searching for that driver and the people who fled the scene.
