The New Orleans Police Department has its hands full with investigating two carjackings, three men robbed at gunpoint on Bourbon Street, and an attempted kidnapping happening all in one day.

The four separate violent incidents happened throughout the day on Monday.

The NOPD reports that on South Murat Street at Banks Street, a Texas man was carjacked. The man was sitting in his pick up truck when the suspect approached and pulled the victim from his vehicle. The suspect fled in the victim's gray 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck with Texas license plate RRG7708.

In the 1200 block of North White Street, a 37-year-old woman was carjacked by two men.

According to an NOPD report, as the woman exited her vehicle, the armed suspects approached her. One suspect took the victim’s car key, then the two suspects got into her blue Toyota RAV 4 and fled the scene in her vehicle.

Then, on Bourbon Street at Governor Nicholls Street, three men were robbed at gunpoint.

Police report that the male suspect approached the group of men from behind, pointed a handgun at one of the men, and demanded their belongings. All three men complied and handed over their belongings. The suspect then fled in a white sedan.

On Curran Boulevard at Sun Street a woman was nearly kidnapped says police.

They say the male suspect demanded the 21-year-old woman get into his vehicle. The suspect grabbed her and attempted to force her into the vehicle. Police say she pulled herself away from the suspect who then got back into his vehicle and fled the scene.

These incidents continue the violent crime trend in New Orleans which the city seems to struggle to get a grasp on.

All of these incidents are under investigation and police are searching for the suspects.
