New Orleans Police say two people were shot Friday night after fighting with each other in Gentilly.
It happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of Elysian Fields Ave., off Allen Toussaint Blvd.
"Officers found a female victim and a male victim at the scene, both suffering from gunshot wounds," said Barry Fletcher with the NOPD Public Information Office.
"The preliminary investigation indicates the two victims were involved in an altercation when one of them discharged a firearm, causing the injuries," said Fletcher.
New Orleans EMS took both parties to the hospital.
