A teen is dead and two others are injured after an early morning shooting in the Upper Ninth Ward.
According to New Orleans Police Department investigators, that shooting happened just after 1 a.m. on Bartholomew Street near St. Claude Avenue.
Those investigators say a 16-year-old victim died of his wounds at the scene. Officers also found a 15-year-old female victim when they arrived. An EMS crew took her to the hospital. A third victim, a 17-year-old boy, later arrived at a hospital with wounds he suffered during the shooting. His condition is unknown.
Police are still trying to piece together a motive and to identify the suspect.
