The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said Friday that its new Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force has arrested four people.
The sheriff's office recently created ICAC in collaboration with the Louisiana Attorney General's Office.
The sheriff's office says over the past two weeks, its task force identified individuals who were engaging in explicit conversations with minors online.
With assistance from the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, Washington Parish Sheriff's Office and the Westwego Police Department, deputies arrested the following:
Nicholas Hines, 43 of Walker
Michael Vicknair, 32 of Gonzales
Robert Trahan, 33 of Ponchatoula
John Gros, Sr., 60 of Mt. Hermon
"I am proud to be part of this task force aimed at keeping our children safe from predators like these folks," said Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Gerald Sticker. "Let this quick work of our team serve as a warning to anyone else out there with these kinds of evil intentions toward children that we will find you."
