4 shot, 1 dead, 1 arrested in Hammond shooting

Four people, including a two-year-old, received gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a Hammond strip mall early Monday morning.

Police have taken one suspect into custody.

Cops say it happened shortly before 3 a.m. Officers responding to a report of a shooting at 1001 North Morrison Boulevard found three victims: Bradley Blount, 23 years old of Hammond, Raleign Honor, 22 years old of Tickfaw, and a two-year-old juvenile.

Acadian Ambulance EMTs took all three victims to North Oaks Medical Center. Blount died shortly after arrival.

Honor and the toddler have non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect, 23-year-old Hammond resident Janvourian Franklin, showed up at North Oaks seeking treatment of his own non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Franklin was treated and arrested upon release.

Charges include one count of first degree murder and three counts of attempted first degree murder.

Police also arrested Franklin's sister, 20-year-old Demetriane Anderson.
