Grammy Award-winning New Orleans musician Aaron Neville says he is done with touring.

“I waited for someone to invent a way to beam me from show to show but no such luck,” Neville said in a statement posted to social media. “I love singing for others, it provides so much joy for me, at least as much as for those listening, if not more. Unfortunately, the grueling nature of travel and the schedule needed to make a tour work has become less than desirable.”

He continues by saying the world today brought him the “realization” that life is short and he did not want to spend it “hurried.”

He concludes by saying he will continue to make music and maybe make a special appearance at occasional music events.

Aaron Neville’s discography spans more than 60 years including Grammy Awards and hit singles like “Everybody Plays the Fool”, “Tell it Like It Is”, and “Don’t Know Much.”
