A New Orleans favorite, Tipitina’s, will triumphantly make its return tonight with sold out shows featuring Ivan Neville.
The reopening of the storied venue marks the first time in a year Tipitina’s has hosted a night of music.
Things will be different.
Seating will now be around tables and there will be a 75-person limit with tickets purchased in groups of two or four to sit at the tables.
Previously Tipitina’s could pack in as many as 700.
Also, according Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate, musicians will also be making changes to their usual way of performing.
Also, in keeping with protocols, patrons will need to stay masked up.
There will be no dancing or congregating near the stage or at the bar.
Servers will be taking orders to ensure everyone remains at their seat.
Management says Tipitina’s interior will be cleaned and sanitized between both shows.
“If anyone had asked me if the city could do a year without music at venues like Tipitina’s, I would have said, ‘Impossible,’” Tiptina’s General Manager Brian Greenberg told the paper.
