As college football kicks off around the country on Labor Day weekend, the Superdome marks the event by hosting a concert headlined by country music superstar Garth Brooks. Superdome officials would like to see this happen every year.
"It's another one of those annual events that we hope to keep," said Evan Holmes, General manager of Caesar's Superdome.
That does not mean annual Garth Brooks performances, but Holmes does mean having a big event at the Superdome associated with college football. He notes that the college season kicks off when there is a gap in the Superdome's calendar.
"That weekend's going to be available to us until they change the scheduling, so we can almost count on that every year," Holmes said. "We see this as a great opportunity for us to kind of plug in another one of those annual events that we believe are going to benefit everybody."
Brooks performs at the Superdome Saturday, September 2.
