The No Kings website is calling for protesters to gather Saturday in New Orleans and Covington to speak out against President Donald Trump.

It is part of a nationwide effort to demonstrate against the president.

The site, nokings.org, says; "On June 14th (Flag Day)- Trump is throwing himself a military parade for his 79th Birthday, with our tax dollars. As tanks roll down Constitution Avenue in the capitol, there will over 1,500 "No Kings" protest events across the nation."

The group has posted details about the plans for the city and the Northshore.

"We will parade in the Marigny," the page about the New Orleans protest says. "We will roll through in a loop through the Marigny before crossing Elysian Fields go down Frenchman street and END with a rally in Washington Square park."

The post calls for people to gather at 9:00am at Mandeville and Decatur for the 10:00am march.

No Kings wants people to show up at the Old Parish Courthouse in Covington for an 11:00am protest at 510 East Boston St.

"We gather to raise our voices and demand: No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings."

The site says at 12:30pm, the group will march together to the rally site at 310 Park Drive, Bogue Falaya Wayside Park (under the large pavilion).

That is scheduled for 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

"Join us for speakers, chants, food, music, and a united call to action. Community activism partners will be present to help you find ways to get involved and raise your voice! Bring signs — and your momma and them!"
