New Orleans Police say a man who stopped to put air in his tires on Christmas Eve morning ended up having his vehicle stolen at gunpoint and exchanging fire with the robbers.
An initial police report shows it happened just after 6:00am in the 3000 Block of Elysian Fields Ave.
Investigators say three armed suspects took the car.
"As they were leaving the suspects fired shots and the victim returned fire."
