New Orleans Police say gunfire wounded four people Sunday evening, minutes after the end of the French Quarter Festival.
"The NOPD is investigating a AGGRAVATED BATTERY BY SHOOTING that occurred at the intersection of Iberville street and Decatur street," Public Information Officer James Roberson said in a news release.
He reported at least 4 victims suffering at least one gun shot wound to the body.
It happened shortly after 8:00pm.
"Please not this is an active crime scene and we encourage people to avoid the immediate area of the 100-200 block of Decatur."
One person has been arrested.
Police say the shooting happened in the view of police officers helping direct crowds leaving the fest.
The suspect was apprehended moments later about a block from the shooting.
