Early voting begins Saturday for the October 14 primary. You can cast your ballot from 8:30 in the morning until 6 o’clock at night.

John Tobler with the Secretary of State’s office said everyone has something on their ballot. Click here to find your sample ballot.

“This Saturday, September 30th through Saturday, October 7th. Each of those days except Sunday. And to make it easier for folks they can go to GeauxVote.com and see their ballot,” said Tobler.

Tobler said the Geaux Vote app will also tell you where the early voting locations are in your parish and where to cast your ballot on election day if you don’t vote early. And to help expedite the process…

“They can create a sample ballot that will help them narrow their choices and know what all is facing them in this election. Because it’s going to be a crowded ballot, there’s four constitutional amendments and we want people to have their voice heard,” said Tobler.

Voting in person is still the preferred way to perform one’s constitutional duty in Louisiana and Tobler said doing so early continues to become more popular.

“People are appreciating the fact that they can do it at their leisure through that seven-day period, and not have to deal with some of the lines that can result on election day,” said Tobler.

Expected voter turnout for the primary is between 42 percent and 46 percent, which Tobler said is average for a governor’s race.
