A Belle Chasse-based US Navy Sailor is facing allegations of attempting to extort people using child pornography. Biagio Ambrosino, 19, from Queens New York has been charged with five counts in total related to the production of child sexual victimization, extortion related to those files, and possession of child sexual abuse material.
The Department of Justice alleges Ambrosino extorted a 16-year-old girl and an adult woman into sending him sexually explicit depictions of themselves using the threat of sending prior depictions of the victims to their family members. This occurred between August 2020 and January 19th of 2022.
The sailor alleged was in possession of sexually explicit video and images related to a now 17-year-old girl and a now 16-year-old boy, along with other content involving children under the age of 12 years old.
Ambrosino was taken into custody on February 28th. Should he be found guilty on most counts he would likely spend most of, if not the entire rest of his life in prison.
