New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson is reportedly suing her neighbors over an incident where their unleashed dogs allegedly mauled her Yorkies, killing one and badly injuring the other earlier this year.
The report by our partners at nola.com shows the suit alleges that if Andre Robert and Caroline Robert had properly secured their pets, the incident would not have occurred. The suit also alleges the couple did not attempt to intervene in the attack, and that the dogs had previously attacked her housekeep and other neighbors.
The offending dogs have since been put down.
The report says Benson’s attorney said that any damages received from the suit would be forwarded to animal welfare charities.
