The Metairie man shot by a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Deputy after he reportedly pointed a gun at officers who were attempting to take him into custody is facing 36 counts of sexual abuse of an animal, according to arrest reports.
The Times Picayune/New Orleans Advocate reports James Millet III is also facing seven counts of possessing child pornography and a pair of counts of distributing such as well as aggravated assault on a peace officer.
The incident began Tuesday morning when representatives of the Attorney General’s office arrived to serve a search warrant of Millet’s home.
The search was related to an investigation into child pornography.
Officers went to the bedroom of Millet’s home after his wife told authorities he was there.
Millet is alleged to have pointed a weapon at officers as they entered the room and was shot by a deputy with a rifle.
Millet is still recovering after being shot in the shoulder during Tuesday’s arrest.
